Cheers to Heathman’s New Cocktail Menu! {Sponsored}

Heathman Collage 2 The Heathman Bar & Restaurant in downtown Portland recently celebrated the launch of their new Cocktail Menu with a private tasting, and Mr. B and I were excited to receive an invitation.  From first impression to last, it is clear that much consideration went into the development of this new menu. It effervesces with an impressive list of absolutely gorgeous cocktails, including original creations by Chef and master mixologist Kathy Casey (of “Kathy Casey’s Liquid Kitchen®”). Every beverage served was a work of art for the eye as well as the palate.

(Speaking of works of art, check out Capturing Grace [by PDX photographer Aubrie LeGault], where you’ll find images of Heathman’s cocktails so beautiful you will want to print and frame them!)

Here are a few of the standouts:

Flaming Green-eyed DaiquiriFlaming Green-Eyed Daiquiri – As far as Mr. B and I were concerned, this was the star of the show! In a visually stunning presentation, thyme is flamed in the bottom of a tumbler with a little Green Chartreuse, and then shaken with Bacardi Superior Rum, Lime Elixir and simple syrup. A Kathy Casey original, the distinctive flavor imparted by the flamed thyme was incredibly fresh and deliciously savory-sweet.
Old FashionedOrchard Old Fashioned – In this creative take on an old favorite, the Heatheman menu pays homage to the Mad Men’s favorite with a delicious blend of Maker’s Mark Bourbon, pear brandy, and organic baked apple bitters. Finished with an ice sphere and a large peel of fresh orange, it infuses the entire experience with the delicious fragrance of fresh citrus.
Vineyard MargaritaVineyard Margarita – This is one lovely looking margarita! Here tequila and Combier d’orange combine with fresh lime and organic agave nectar, and are topped off with a float of (local!) Pinot noir and a garnish of fresh rosemary. Beautiful!
ProvenceProvence – Grey Goose, Limoncello, Lemon Elixir, Lavender Bitters, and Argyle Sparkling Wine from Dundee blend together make this deliciously bubbly concoction. Garnished with an edible Firestix blossom, the Provence is reminiscent of a grown-up, refreshingly posh-and-polished version of a certain “squirty” citrus soda.
Oregon Berries & BubblesOregon Berries & Bubbles – This bubbly elixir pairs local raspberries, lemon and vodka with Dundees Argyle Sparkling Wine.
Tea Court Lounge PunchTea Court Lounge Punch – Like the Flaming Green-eyed Daiquiri, the presentation is priceless – from a delicate teapot, a punch of rum, pomegranate cognac, tropical fruit and Earl Grey is poured over a goblet of settled Angostura foam. The result is a luxuriously sweet, velvety dessert in a glass.
Heathman's AppetizersTeetotalers will find a couple of delicious options on the new menu as well, including Heathman’s Sparkling Raspberry Rosemary Lemonade (a non-alcoholic version of Berries & Bubbles) and a refreshingly light Cucumber Lime Cooler.

The Heathman offers an extremely budget-friendly Happy Hour from 2pm to close every day, with a wide selection of appetizers and small plates available at approximately 50% off regular prices.
